Tuning
Carb and gas has a full range of modern tuning and testing equipment including a dyno. From basic systems up to the most current sequential vapour injection applications are serviced. Problem vehicles with backfiring, stalling and starting issues can be addressed and are commonly ignition faults, air leaks and poor adjustment or set up.
Convertor overhauling and replacement
The hardest working component in the system is usually the LPG convertor (regulator). This component over time will wear and require servicing. The selection of a replacement unit, installation and setup is necessary for further reliabity.
Factory Ford systems (Tickford) utilize Vialle convertors. These are reliable and fitted in our workshop. An economical option is to recondition the existing unit using genuine Vialle parts. This method has proven to be successful and is completed in one day.
In General
Repairs such as filling problems, gauges not operating correctly and gas odours are generally no issue to repair. Cost depends on system style and brand of cylinder etc. In most cases Carb and Gas are happy to quote at no charge.
Gas Certificates
Gas certificates (form 6) are required at anytime when a road worthy is needed. The task involves leak testing, checking operation of safety features and ensuring the lpg tank is in test.

BBQ and Automotive
Like your BBQ cylinder, your lpg tank is designed and constructed to last a long time. You are obliged to replace the safety relief valve every ten years. This can be identified quickly by inspection of its build date. This is a national safety requirement and is important that any cylinder in use stays in commission. Once retested the cylinder is in service for a further ten years. Carb and Gas can remove, retest and refit your tank to your vehicle in one day.
Carburettors and Distributors
At Carb and Gas we are specialist carburettor and distributor rebuilders including rebushing and machining, multiple carb balancing and tuning. We also carry a wide range of exchange vacuum advance capsules, with rare and odd applications able to be remanufactured.
